ABOUT

Christine A. Powers grew up in Philadelphia, PA. After attending college at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD, she honed her skills with internships at Philadelphia Magazine and with the curator of the Decker Gallery in Baltimore, working with mentor Chip Kidd on the "Comics on the Verge" exhibition in 2004.

It wasn't long until she returned to her hometown as a professional graphic designer. With refined typographical skills and color palette, her design style has been called elegant, crisp, and whimsical. Her skills extend beyond the design desk with several years of experience in event planning.

Her design philosophy can be summed up in the words of Paola Antonelli: "Design is not style. It’s not about giving shape to the shell and not giving a damn about the guts. Good design is a renaissance attitude that combines technology, cognitive science, human need, and beauty to produce something that the world didn’t know it was missing." (Though it goes without saying that good design usually ends up being pretty stylish, in the end...)
